Medwell Recovery Therapy Practice

We combine proven therapies with genuine compassion—so healing feels safe, structured, and deeply human.

What is Outpatient Treatment?

Outpatient treatment is a flexible and supportive approach to care for mental health and substance use disorders (SUDs)that allows individuals to receive professional support without the need for overnight stays or hospitalization.
At MedWell Recovery, we offer several levels of outpatient care, including:
  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): A structured, day program providing intensive therapy and clinical support while clients return home in the evenings.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): A step-down level of care offering several therapy sessions per week focused on recovery, coping skills, and maintaining sobriety.
Our outpatient programs combine individual therapy, group counseling, and skill-building workshops in a compassionate, real-world-focused setting. This allows clients to apply what they learn in daily life while receiving consistent guidance and support.
Whether you’re working to strengthen your mental health, sustain long-term sobriety or both, MedWell Recovery provides the structure, care, and community to help you move forward with confidence.

Our Treatment Modalities

At MedWell Recovery, we understand that every individual’s journey with mental health and substance use disorders (SUDs) is unique. That’s why we offer a diverse range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s specific needs, history, and goals. Our experienced clinicians thoughtfully integrate various approaches to support healing, recovery, and long-term wellness.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A structured, goal-oriented approach that helps clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, behaviors, and emotional responses. CBT is effective for treating anxiety, depression, OCD, and more.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Originally developed for borderline personality disorder, DBT teaches clients skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness—particularly helpful for those experiencing intense emotions or self-destructive behaviors.
  • Trauma-Focused Therapy: Designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. This approach creates a safe space for clients to confront and integrate their trauma at their own pace, reducing its lasting emotional impact.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A specialized trauma therapy that uses guided eye movements to help the brain reprocess distressing memories and reduce their emotional charge.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy / Attachment-Based Approaches: These methods explore unconscious patterns, early life experiences, and attachment dynamics that shape current relationships and emotional health. This deeper insight fosters lasting change and greater self-awareness.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI): A collaborative, client-centered technique that helps individuals explore and strengthen their motivation to change. MI is especially effective for clients ambivalent about recovery or behavior change.
At MedWell Recovery, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Our therapists work closely with each client to determine which combination of modalities best supports their healing journey—always rooted in empathy, safety, and respect.

Wondering What to Expect?

Healing feels easier when you know what’s ahead. We’ve answered the most common questions so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.
What makes MedWell Recovery different from other treatment centers?
Our setting feels welcoming and human, not clinical. You will work with a team experienced in substance use and co‑occurring mental health needs. We combine trauma‑informed therapy, recovery skills, and steady accountability in an outpatient format that respects your life. Every detail, from daily structure to the way we listen, is designed to help you feel safe, seen, and supported.
We support people navigating substance use concerns along with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, and relationship stress. Many clients have tried to manage on their own for a long time. We address both the substance use and the underlying patterns so care fits you, not a label.
You will meet with a clinician who takes time to understand you, your history with substances, your goals, and what triggers or stressors tend to show up. Together, we outline a clear, confidential plan that feels doable, including immediate supports for safety and stability. You leave with next steps, not uncertainty.
